Services
Service Philosophy We believe families and communities are the most important support networks for all people. One of the best ways to support persons who have a developmental disability is to empower them and their families - to work with them to identify their strengths, their most important needs and find ways to enhance those abilities and meet those needs. We also respect the adults and their right and responsibility to be full participants in directing their own supports to achieve what is most important to them. Some Facts About Service Delivery Service Coordination: Every individual found eligible for Regional Center services is entitled to receive service coordination. Case managers help people with disabilities and their families identify and obtain needed services and supports. They also advocate for, monitor, and evaluate services along with the individuals, their families or guardians. A key role of the case manager is to assist people with the process and paperwork necessary to obtain services. Case managers provide a "single point of entry" into services, help identify needed supports, develop a personalized plan, make necessary referrals and serves as an advocate for the person and the family. Partnerships: No one agency or organization is able to meet the needs of everyone. The Regional Center is a partnership between the person with a developmental disability and their families and friends; community members, businesses and organization; local and state agencies and the Division of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities. We must work together and pool our resources to address those needs that are most important to the consumer and the family. Planning for Services: Together with your case manager, you will develop an Individual Plan (IP) that will identify the specific supports needed to reach your goals.
